We organize a Half Day 2dives Trip or 4 dives to Tumbatu Island around the Tumbatu Reef and Mwana wa Mwana dive site and enjoy life underwater in Zanzibar we will do 2dives a day each dive will be about 45 minutes.
Tumbatu Island and the smaller island on the Northern tip, Mwana wa Mwana, offer some of the best corals in the area which are home to a diverse selection of marine creatures.
From small walls to sloping fringing reefs the corals range from a depth of 3-20 meters with mild currents. This area has more of a sedimented bottom composition and while the average visibility is 12-15 meters, there are quite a few days of 20+.
Our theory is due to the visibility being a bit less than in Mnemba, it has protected the corals from many boats and divers which have damaged the corals in Mnemba. Some of our more camouflaged species found on this reef include frogfish, ghost pipefish, and seahorses.
Tumbatu Reef has a stunning shallow coral wall which drops from 5 meters down to 10-12 meters then a gently sloping bottom with coral bommies continuing to around 20m as the sand bank continues down to 30+ meters.
Mwana wa Mwana on the Northern tip consists of a gradual sloping fringing reef with corals from 3 meters down to 10-12m then a sloping sediment bottom down to 20-30m.
We leave around 09.00 in the morning (depending on the tides) and we come back to the dive center around 14.00-14.30. Our groups for diving are very small, generally not more than 4 divers per guide.
We provide transfer if you will dive near where you choose to dive with us according to our Diving Location and you will stay in that location.
