Snorkeling Jambiani Zanzibar at Jambiani Lagoon is home to our seahorses, typically found over the sandy and seagrass areas, the dive continues to the far side of the Eastern reef where we often spot frogfish, leaf fish, and even harlequin shrimp.
These vary from inner-lagoon dives, sloping outer-reef dives, and wall dives. Although all of our sites are fascinating, we do have some that are better in certain seasons. Some of these are further afield and some require diving experience of an advanced level. All of our dives are drift dives with a boat following the dive group for support.
Meet your guide at Jambiani or Paje for this snorkeling excursion and allow guests to experience the diversity of Zanzibar’s famed dive sites without the need for a scuba diving qualification.
A half-day experience that departs from Jambiani Village, head to the outer lying reef where you can’t jump right in – exploring the shallow corals and looking out for distinctive species that include Turtles, leaf Fish, Octopuses, Scorpion Fish, Moray Eels, and Nudibranchs.
Whilst access to the island is under strict rule by tribal elders, you will be able to take a tour by boat – traveling along the stunning shoreline before you head back to Zanzibar – returning to the port by 2 pm.
If you have less time we recommend the snorkel trip to the blue lagoon in Dongwe. The trip includes transfers, guided snorkeling as well as fruit and snacks. On both trips, you can expect to see a vibrant coral reef packed with colors and a huge variety of tropical fish.
